Chinese national sues Federal Reserve for devaluing the dollar On April 23, a woman from the Yunnan province in China filed a lawsuit in U.S. Federal court against the Federal Reserve over their abuse in monopoly power of a currency, and the devaluing the U.S. dollar through substantial money printing. In the first suit of its kind to be brought against a private central bank that controls the value of a global reserve currency, a private individual from a foreign country is alleging that due to the actions implemented by the Federal Reserve since 2006, the value of her money, which is denominated in dollars, has lost over 30% of its value in just seven years.
